When he isn’t stirring up the next race, Joe has a healthy appetite for travel and has journeyed to about 40 countries over the last few years.

 

Last year he thought up the idea to bike across a country and El Salvador was the smallest one he could find, so he flew there, bought a bike and began pedaling. Long story short, eight days later he was being chased and sprinting to the Honduras border on foot.

Ryan has an infectious personality. It’s a guarantee that if he, say, goes grocery shopping, he’ll come home with three new friends, a free loaf of bread and an invitation to dinner next Saturday.

 

In his free time he’s a professor of Environmental Science at a state university, a cicada-cooking connoisseur and the biggest guy in the room.

Kelli scuba dives with man-eating sharks, takes approximately one million pictures per year and hopes to drive that motorcycle someday.

 

In her free time she begs Joe to add an Australian leg to The Great Urban Race tour, is involved in every club ever invented and hopes to learn how to read an analog clock this year.

Nicole can recite the alphabet backwards in 2.8 seconds, enjoys sliding through mud puddles at 2am and her life’s theme song is “Working for the Weekend”.

 

She survived her first month living in Chicago by eating macaroni and cheese, cheese sandwiches and cheese quesadillas. Her next dog is going to be named Hamburger.

Stephanie wishes she was a rapper named S-KSIZZLE, hopes to have a yoga pose named after her and is pretty sure she could live on only pepperoni Jack’s frozen pizzas.

 

She recently picked up snowboarding and while she might not be a pro yet, she’ll probably be the best dressed on the hill.

This Detroit native is an avid Tigers fan, runner and sushi fanatic. She never has less than four different types of gum in her purse and never goes more than three days without using a bouncy ball.

Don’t let her five-foot stature fool you, Stephanie has seriously big guns. This little ball of energy was born an adventurer, having climbed and fallen out of her crib 400 times.

 

She’s an accomplished gymnast and loves paintballing, wakeboarding and long backpacking trips. Stephanie was once covered in 40 gigantic black flies and lived to tell about it.
